At HIS, we consider every stage of learning to be special, unique, and important in its own way. The Elementary School at HIS is focused primarily on developing a deep love of learning, nurturing good learner habits and practices, building on good values and principles, providing a broad experience of subjects and fields, and developing strong academic foundations that will reap its benefit in the higher grade levels. At HIS, we are not driven by marks, scores, or numbers but by learning and growing. While there are assessments to mark progress and map growth, there is no pressure at the ES level on students to take exams. The general philosophy behind Elementary School education is for students to encounter various learning fields and disciplines to discover their passion, gifts, inclinations, and interests that they can master and pursue in the higher grades. All our levels are driven by a pedagogy that is creative, student-centered, inquiry-based, and holistic. Learning at HIS is purposeful, meaningful, and quality oriented.
