Life is Beautiful II.png

Life is Beautiful

You may have heard of the 1997 Robert Benigni movie called “Life is beautiful”. Adapted from a story set in the turbulent times of World War II, it portrays how life changed almost in an instant as the Nazis gained power in large parts of Europe. The organized extermination of the Jews was the news everywhere and the War had made everything from the economy to the friendships you had, chaotic and uncertain. The camera follows the story of a little Jewish family faced with the worst horrors of the concentration camp – separation from loved ones, starvation and hard labor. In the middle of this an ingenious father invents a game to protect his toddler son from the brutal realities of the camp, and he successfully conditions his boy to believe that one day they would return to a world where life is indeed, beautiful.

Probably more than ever before, as we trudge through the current tumultuous times with the pandemic, and whatnot, the theme of this movie rings clear like a bell. It’s decided then. One must be willing to take a stand. For what? For kindness and decency, for goodwill and courage, for hope and gratitude – even against all odds. We must teach our children that values like these are the ones to contend for and pray for. And we live by these values because shhh….the children are watching. And these are the things that will make the world a better place.

At Harbour International School (HIS), we believe along with quality education that elevates the life of individuals, community and country alike and paves the way to a better tomorrow, entrepreneurs play an equally major role. Small-scale industries affect the economy at large, and definitely many other areas of life. In addition to being a huge source of employment they also make life beautiful through their products and services, and much more.

For this year’s contest we have invited like-minded friends, initiators of entrepreneurial entities to join us in this contest which is a much needed campaign. You will also be introduced to them on our social media handles
